Every year, Tech Insider runs The App 100 to showcase the best mobile apps in the world. This year, they recognized SPG: Starwood Hotels & Resorts as a best app under the travel category.
The list varies between popular social networking apps to hidden gems that have not garnered mainstream appeal. Apps chosen by Tech Insider must hit a certain set of credentials, innovations, and level of quality. They must also serve the purpose of making life easier, better or more fun.
“What sets SPG apart from the legions of other hotel apps is that it was the first to introduce keyless entry,” the article explains. “Which means you can use the app to lock and unlock your room without a physical key.”
The app also recently received an update where it accommodates an assortment of new features like 3D touch quick actions and apple wallet account management tools.
